I am an artist who works primarily in pastel. I am drawn to "still-life" painting because of the various shapes, textures, colors and reflective surfaces that are possible to paint . I am particularly interested in the hand-crafted items of "yesteryear" and I enjoy coupling the textures found in old doilies and tablecloths with the shiny surfaces on fruit or ceramic pieces. My goal is to evoke a feeling of emotion in the viewer and allow him/her to appreciate not only my choice of items, but to find the beauty that I see in them as well.
